What’s better than a hot dish of comfort food on a cold night? Nothing. Well, almost nothing...
This fall, I will be participating in a TV cooking contest with four talented food bloggers around the D.C. area, and we want you, our loyal readers, to choose the comfort food dish we should make.
Macaroni and cheese? Chicken Pot Pie? Lasagne? Chili? You decide.
Look at my pot. I’m ready. I make mean versions of all of the above.
Meet the competition, if you must:
Our host, Lauren DeSantis, is a lawyer by day, blogger by night who has gone multimedia by starting her own cooking and restaurant show called Capitol Cooking with Lauren DeSantis. It runs on local cable channels and is the show that will bring nerdy web writers and food geeks like us out of the shadows for the Food Bloggers Challenge.
Stefanie Gans, who blogs at Endless Simmer, describes herself as a proud South Jersey girl who works at a nice nonprofit when not eating, drinking or cooking or freelancing about -- what else? -- food and dining.
Alison McConnell started the online food and wine publication, The Humble Gourmand, as an outlet for her food passion and pounds away at the keyboard or teaches cooking classes when she’s not working as a full-time financial reporter.
Johnna Rowe is a lawyer who has turned her love for food and writing into Johnna Knows Good Food, a blog about cooking and dining in D.C. and around the country. Rowe says her blog has earned her some fun catering gigs on which she’d like to expand.
The show will air in late winter, but we need to film in the next few weeks, so go here to vote on the dish now.
And stay tuned for more details as the competition gets closer.
